DENS™ Training

Developers of the Drug Evaluation Network System Software Suite, “DENS”, offer a one-day training for providers interested in using this automated version of the ASI and the various clinical reporting and scoring features it offers. Trainings can be delivered on-site or in TRI’s offices in Philadelphia.

Review of ASI/Uses of the ASI

  1. Clinical Utility
  2. Research Purposes
  3. Strengths and Limitations
  4. Discussion of Computer Assisted Interviewing (administering the ASI using the DENS)
  5. Training on the features and functionality of the DENS Suite Software

Introducing and General Coding Review for ASI including brief review of most common mistakes and questions for:

Introducing the ASI
General Information Section
Medical Status Section
Employment/Support Section
Drug & Alcohol Sections
Legal Section
Family/Social Section
Psychiatric Section

Introduction and use of the DENS software Suite

  1. Utility of the DENS software during ASI administration
  2. Logging onto the software, entering data and comments
  3. Compilation of coding conventions and cross checks
  4. Instruction on production of various client-level and aggregate reports
  5. Instruction on DENS administration procedures (adding users, security, back up data, etc),
  6. Exporting ASI data

Materials
Each trainee receives a variety of materials created by the developers of the ASI and the DENS Software Suite, including copies of the ASI and associated manuals and publications; a Power Point version of the entire DENS presentation and worksheets and other practice materials.
