Treatment Research Institute
The Treatment Research Institute (TRI), a nationally recognized not-for-profit research and development organization, seeks two Research Assistants, one for its Behavioral Treatments & Application Section and the other for its Law & Ethics Section. The Research Assistants are primarily responsible for data collection and data monitoring and data quality assurance activities for one or more studies and supporting the scientific staff. The Research Assistants report to the Research or Section Coordinators and work closely with the scientist and other research staff.

About the Behavioral Treatment and Applications Section
The mission of the Behavioral Treatments and Applications Section, under the Direction of Kimberly Kirby, Ph.D., is to develop, adapt and refine behavioral applications that have evidence of efficacy in research settings and increase their availability, accessibility and quality of delivery to clients, their families, and the community through innovative, empirically derived training and technology-based interventions. About the Section on Law & Ethics Research
The mission of the Section on Law & Ethics, under the direction of David S. Festinger, Ph.D., is to evaluate the impact of criminal justice programs, polices and the ethical mandates on substance abuse clients and their families and the community. The Research Assistant for this section will primarily work in a public health center collecting and monitoring data. Knowledge of the criminal justice system is a plus. Research Assistant Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with screening participants.
- Recruit and consent participants, conduct on-site data collection.
- Conduct in-person follow-up interviews with study participants.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on data.
- Monitor and track project progress.
- Assist with regulatory requirements, IRB submission, DSMB, AE/SAE monitoring, etc.
- Assist with preparation of required status reports.
- Conduct literature searches to assist with grant preparation and report writing.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in psychology or related field required.
- Experience with substance abuse and/or behavioral health research studies preferred.
- Possess a strong knowledge of computer fundamentals.
- Proficient with WORD and Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of SPSS.
- Demonstrated oral presentation skills and prior training experience helpful.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with research participants, TRI superiors, peers and subordinates as well as employees and representatives of cooperating outside agencies.
- Valid Driver’s License.
